Why it matters here
Peachtree Corners employers draw staff from all over Gwinnett, north Fulton and DeKalb, and a lot of them work a hybrid week. Census payroll data for 2023 puts roughly 373,000 workers in Gwinnett County alone. When a team is split between a Technology Parkway suite and a dozen home offices, email, files and line-of-business apps have to be reachable from anywhere, without risky shortcuts.
The office itself also changes. Leases in the area's office parks come up for renewal, firms move to bigger or smaller suites, and branch offices open and close. Work that lives in Microsoft 365 moves with you. Work that lives on a server in the closet has to be unplugged, carried and brought back up.
A tenant set up on purpose
Microsoft 365 can do much more than email, but a default tenant leaves a lot open. We configure and manage:
- Exchange Online: mailboxes, shared inboxes for service teams and billing, sensible retention, and SPF, DKIM and DMARC published in DNS so criminals have a harder time sending mail as you.
- SharePoint and Teams: a site for each department, client or project, and access granted along the same lines your org chart already follows. No more single shared drive that every user can see.
- OneDrive: personal files synced and protected, with known folders redirected so a lost laptop doesn't mean lost work.
- Identity and access: MFA, conditional access, admin roles kept to a few named people, and legacy sign-ins turned off.
- Intune device management: a laptop fresh out of the box configures itself at first sign-in, business data is kept in managed apps, and we can erase a missing device from afar.
- Licensing: matching each user to a plan. Offices often overspend on unused features, or save money on a plan missing key security tools.
- Teams Phone: where it fits, a cloud phone system that follows staff to any device and survives an office move.
Moving off the closet server
Plenty of offices in west Gwinnett still run a server bought when they were half their current size. It holds the shared drive, maybe a database and the user logins. It's past warranty, it needs a battery backup to ride through power blips, and when it fails everyone stops. Shifting those workloads to Microsoft 365 and Azure means one dead box no longer halts the office, and an office move gets much simpler.
Not every workload belongs in the cloud. Some agency management, accounting, CAD and ERP products run best on a local or hosted server, or have licensing rules that limit where they can go. We review each application, check with the vendor and recommend where it should live. Then we move in stages, after hours or over a weekend, with a tested way back if anything goes wrong.
Branch offices and corporate tenants
If your Peachtree Corners office is part of a larger company, the tenant may belong to corporate. We work within their standards, handle local onboarding and devices, and raise issues through the right channels. If the office is moving off a parent company's systems after a sale or spin-off, we plan the tenant split and migration so mail and files arrive intact.
Internet becomes the critical link
Once files and phones live in the cloud, the internet line becomes the single thing the office cannot lose. In multi-tenant office buildings, your choice of providers depends on who has already wired the building. We review what's available at your address, size the main circuit for your headcount and, when the cost makes sense, bring in a second carrier or a 5G failover so one cut cable doesn't send everyone home.
Ongoing care
Microsoft adds, renames and retires features every month. We track those updates, keep an eye on Secure Score and risky sign-in reports, process new starters and leavers, and trim or add licenses as the team changes. New hires get a laptop that's ready on day one, with the right access and nothing extra.
Questions about microsoft 365 & cloud
We run on Google Workspace. Is that a problem?
No. We support it. When Microsoft 365 suits your software or client demands better, we map out a migration that brings over every mailbox, calendar and shared drive.
How long does a Microsoft 365 migration take?
For 10 to 75 users, plan on two to six weeks of preparation and a weekend cutover. Large file shares or tangled permissions can add time, and we'll tell you up front.
